Designer Bags

Uncooped, a great blog focusing in on the environment has a short article, and a link to patterns to make you own reusable plastic bags. I received my copy of Canoe & Kayak magazine on Friday, and was browsing through it, and came across a short article about an Oil spill in San Francisco Bay, and the frustration of the civic minded volunteers wanting to help manage this disaster, and being turned away at best, […]

The family headed out to Blair Valley in the Anza-Borrego Desert today to do a couple of hikes to Yaquitepec and the Pictograph trail. The drive through Julian was very cold and very rainy. The rain let up as we descended the Banner grade into the desert, but it never was warmer than […]

Mission Bay

I decided that I would take a quick paddle around Mission Bay this morning before the Charger Playoff game started. My plan was to circle the bay, and take a little break admiring the penguins that Sea Word has living on the rocks across from Fiesta Island. Unfortunately I found […]

1000 Acres

It was reported in the San Diego Union that the Nature Conservancy has purchased 1,000 acres of land at a price of $2.3 Million with plans to preserve it in its natural state, and add it to the Anza-Borrego State Park. […]
