Sometimes You Just Need To Walk

October 26th, 2008 · No Comments

I woke up early this morning to shoot some photos of the area around and on Garnet Peak near Mount Laguna.  I am experimenting with an imaging process called HDR,  and I needed bracketed shots to make it work.  Unfortunately this process has highlighted the shortcomings of my Nikon D40 which lacks an auto bracketing feature.

Getting back to the point,  I  also had thoughts of getting a good aerobic workout along with some decompression time that only the backcountry can provide. I was so busy shooting photographs,  I did not accomplish either.  I am happy I was able get the shots I needed,  but I have come to the realization that I often need the physical and mental cleansing that a good hard hike with no distractions other than the view of the trail, and the sound of my heart pumping provides.

I will let you know how the HDR experiments go.
