I was browsing the hiking blogs on the net,  and I came across a post on Modern Hiker about Google Earth on The iPhone.  As I mentioned several post ago,  I am among the hoard who is now toting a shiny new iPhone.  It is a pretty amazing piece of technology and integrates wonderfully in my “Mac-Centric” technology collection.  I downloaded the new Google Earth Application, and have upped the hiking geek appeal of my iPhone exponentially.  I have not had a lot of time to play with it,  but having access to Google Earth anywhere I have signal promises to blow many hours of my idle time.  As far as the practical application to hiking, I will see.   Now if National Geographic will develop an application tht will integrate my TOPO program into my iPhone…hmmm!
