Outdoor Books For Kids

December 6th, 2008 · 1 Comment

After running across a series of fun books for kids on Twitter called Bur Bur and Friends,  I decided to compile a list of books that feature outdoor adventures geared towards small children.  My kids own and regularly read most of these books, and love them. I know any gift to a gift shop during any trip to a national park ect. invariably ends up at the bookshelf.   We have a ritual of stopping by the Visitors Center in Mammoth Lakes every summer to check out there selection of often hard to find outdoor type books.  Here a short list,  but I know there are so many more that can draw children into two of the best activities I can think of;  reading and the outdoors.  Comment on this post and add your selections for favorite outdoor books.

I like the book curious george goes camping my son checked out that book at school last year.I think kids today need to get away from the game control and computors and just get out and enjoy time in nature.Their is a lot of beautiful memories in the outdoors take a kid camping or fishing and you’ll have a friend for life.
